no he cant, he …
no he cant, he would need an arm to be in his guard with his head for the choke to be effective. this was the guy would just have balls in his face and no blood is being cut off

zzzTipsterzzz  on November 6th, 2009

what to grab if …
what to grab if your opponent is naked?

attilaclark  on November 6th, 2009

Better to back out …
Better to back out once the guard opens and move into a ankle lock or bring a knee up the middle..onto his pelvis area. This isn’t that good if you ask me its just a common technique

Sirkrass  on November 6th, 2009

no it isn’t gi …
no it isn’t gi dependent, just push with the blade of your hands right where the crotch ain’t no crotch any more, like with your thumbs together and your pinkies pointing out

aikighost  on November 6th, 2009

Hmm. There is a …
Hmm. There is a definite difference between hat is high percentage in no gi and gi graplling especially as regards chokes.

Dont get me wrong, just about every Gi based move can work without the gi. But your high percentage gi based moves aren’t necessarily the best choice in a no Gi match. Basically you have to train both to know both :D

I use thus type of …
I use thus type of pass all the time, we call it Double under pass. Every once in awhile a newbie will attempt just what you mention…it doesnt help them at all, not much pressure can be applied. There is a technique that you can use if you catch their head between your legs ,its called armless triangle

huyvu90  on November 6th, 2009

I call this technique the hand job guard pass.

sanucesMMA  on November 6th, 2009

It worked for me …
It worked for me with almost everyone except for this 300lb purple belt guy who grabs my sleeves and stops my technique in the middle. Any suggestions?

I tried freeing one sleeve at a time, but when I free one, he holds the other.

You are right in …
You are right in saying not all gi techniques can be applied to no-gi, but if you want him to see your point you have to prove you know more then him about BJJ rather then knowing how to incorporate more profanity them him. But, I completely agree that a gi technique like the collar choke is almost impossible to pull off on someone who knows anything, with out a gi.

Alright, you got me. Unlike most that get into flamewars, I can bow down when someone sounds like they know what they are talking about. Truce, aper

aper3221bitch  on November 6th, 2009

Once again I am not …
Once again I am not being an internet thug, I am just stating my point. I am stating actual facts man. It’s common sense. Anyone knows that the gi game is different from no-gi. You should really look into 10th planet jiu jitsu to get a better understanding of what I’m saying. Oh and if you don’t want to start a war, don’t fire your pistol. You sent me a message. I was simply stating my point.
